On one hand, the free opera tickets are like the top number one benefit of being a student, so I am not ungrateful, but on the other hand they shouldn't be scheduling these to end at quarter to 11pm on a Sunday. I have to get up early tomorrow

Abdullah told me he’s spent weeks at the hospital with his brother. He managed to have surgery to fix the blood clots but now the doctors think he needs a skin graft to save his leg. He is hoping to raise money for the surgery.
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Abdullah. Abdullah was a tailor. He is very worried about his brother Ismail who is at risk of losing his leg after it was run over at an aid distribution site. He’s also taking care of Ismail’s children Tayseer, 15, Sahar, 12 and Hoor, 8.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

So apparently I've read 38 books so far this year. I haven't counted the pile of unread physical books I have lying around but I think if I only read books I have in my actual possession as paper copies next year I can probably get through most of them. That would be so satisfying
