…All we are is dust in the wiiinnnnd…
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence"

Being an early filmmaker would’ve been a great, fun gig
Camera movement has existed longer than we might think, with pans becoming common in the 1900s.

Early filmmakers also simulated movement. This 1908 fairy tale THE GRATEFUL LITTLE MICE gives the illusion of a zoom by pulling the performers and prop book toward the camera. It's nearly seamless.

Evil and stupid? Yes, of course! But also entirely absurd

blues.in.colourBooker T & The MG’s - ‘Time is Tight’ live in the studio [Colourised] 1969Another clip for the genuis Booker T’s 81st birthday today. This clip shows Booker and the MG’s recording Time Is Tight at the Stax Studio in 1969. Broadcast on the 19th April 1969, this clip is from a great 11-minute Memphis Soul and Stax Studio French documentary, with Isaac Hayes, Carla Thomas, as well as Booker T, the MGs and more. (I’ve colourised that clip aswell which you can find on my YouTube channel).I don’t make anything colourising and putting these videos together so please support the channel with the link here if you can its greatly appreciated! https://tr.ee/cplUOY9n5LIn the legendary Stax Studio: Time Is Tight by Booker T, Steve Cropper, Al Jackson Jnr and Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn. Booker T & the MGs were the Stax label house band, backing the likes of Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and Carla Thomas as well as having their own hits such as this and Green Onions. This is a live rendition excerpt of the original version of Time is Tight, with an extended intro. While hanging around the Satellite Record Shop run by Estelle Axton, co-owner of Satellite Records with her brother Jim Stewart, Jones met record clerk Steve Cropper, who would become one of the MGs when the group formed in 1962. Besides Jones on organ and Cropper on guitar, Booker T. and the MGs featured Lewie Steinberg on bass guitar and Al Jackson Jr. on drums (Donald “Duck” Dunn eventually replacing Steinberg on bass). While still in high school, Jones co-wrote the group’s classic instrumental “Green Onions”, which was a massive hit in 1962.An interracial group in segregated Memphis Tennessee added to their uniqueness; the studio and label Stax were also a pioneering multiracial organisation. On October 29, 2019, his memoir Time Is Tight: My Life, Note by Note was released.https://linktr.ee/blues.in.colour#colourised #bookert #bookert&themgs #stevecropper #donalduckdunn #donalddunn #aljackson #1969 #stax #staxrecords #famestudios #soul #soulmusic
