I don't have a rose-colored view of American history, so I know our history is really awful, but the fact remains we don't have to keep doing awful things. We could have chosen a very different path that wasn't (for once) filled with thuggery & violence.
America is a rogue and malevolent state and global bad actor

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

I vacillate between being angry at Dems for doing nothing & realizing that doing so is basically equivalent to asking a woman what she was wearing when she was sexually assaulted & refocus my anger back where it belongs: Repubs & the jackals who voted for them.

🧵 The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 was supposed to end the problem of runaway slaves once and for all—but it didn't. There's a lot of moving parts here. Pull up a seat.🪑 (cont)

I have hated a handful of people in my life that did really horrible stuff to me. None of them come close to how much I hate that man.

US chicken is chlorinated because America has no animal welfare laws where poultry is concerned. It has to be chlorinated because Salmonella and e. coli run rife

The EU banned that practice in 1997 and as such the UK has among the highest welfare and standards in the world. 1/2

To be fair, this describes the United States since its founding perfectly. Maybe add religious zealots.
The view coming from the majority of the world openly considers the United States a nation of cowards, thieves, pedophiles, and murderers gaining infamy at the same level as Russia. The century of US humiliation is now in full swing.

Because we need more shit to worry about:

“When I see arrangements like this, it’s a huge red flag,” Paul Kedrosky ... “It sends the signal that these companies really don’t want the credit-rating agencies to look too closely at their spending.”

So this piece of crap squatting in the White House has decided to engage us in war to gain oil. This is not about drugs. This is about control. This is about him not being held accountable for his crimes. How much does it take until we act against him?

the administration wants to frame this (bizarrely) as law enforcement. but if law enforcement conducted a raid for a suspect and killed 40 people, including an unknown number of unarmed civilians, it would be treated as a clear disaster like Waco.
NYT:

At least 40 people were killed in the US attack on Venezuela, including military personnel and civilians.

Rubio is claiming that they did not need Congress permission because it was a law enforcement mission. The US is behaving as a global police state, extending its own arbitrary legal decisions to the whole world.

This is not a problem just for Venezuela.
