The main reason I'm on here is not that I'm looking for a "less toxic" Twitter. If this app gets popular it will get toxic. But I want to read quality pieces linked from sports writers and X suppresses the hell out of that content.
this is the precise point at which certain Denver fans should know they're on the wrong side of history

that's the same jersey but one is in Chinese
The Seahawks 12th Man jersey is the saddest of all NFL jerseys. Who’s your favorite player? Me, a random person watching the games, and I spent $160 to let the world know this.

threads tried to focus on monetization and it didn't work. the teams will probably be the last to show up here but the audience is what actually matters
Insightful conversation, particularly (as I'm most concerned) whether teams migrate here. I think it's ultimately a question monetization and audience. Usership here needs to grow quickly and steadily enough to demand teams pour resources into *another* platform. It also needs to make teams money.
NEW PODCAST: Can Bluesky or Threads replace X/Twitter as the go-to place for sports content?

The guest is @howardbeck.bsky.social of The Ringer. I appreciate his time and insight.

Clingan is for real. Portland has a chance to build this roster around elite size and overwhelming athleticism. And a chance at the sweepstakes atop the '25 draft.

This is only a fatal flaw if you think on/off splits are dispositive as opposed to just 1 piece of evidence. Both the teams Net with the player on the floor and the difference between that and the player off the floor are perfectly objective factual records of what happened. They just don’t say WHY.
The "off" part seems to be a problem with any serious analysis of on/off figures. They tell a totally different story for every team

One belief I have about the NBA and it's teams is that if you're a media person who routinely insists the team or the league is not worth watching, people will eventually believe you.

And then congratulations, you played yourself when your content doesn't perform or your network stumbles.

The problem is that no amount of patching the rules is going to bring back the style of basketball people claim they want to see. Players are more skilled now. The NBA should focus on improving the product that naturally arises from the unreal player talent they have
No, I'm referring to the "too many 3s have ruined the game" arguments.

Good piece. It's wild to think about what goes into the limited opportunities that players get on contending teams.
