Klute is leaving the Criterion Channel at the end of the month, and you should watch it, and then maybe read this. if you feel like it, no pressure.

May I interest you in the Neon Orange Title Collection?
The surefire way to get me to buy or rent your movie back in day was to put your title in neon orange 😁

There is something starkly funny about associating "true" Americanism -- which is to say whiteness -- with a food famous for being most often prepared so it becomes too dry and tough. A country where all pleasure must be hollow and performative!

(I love turkey when prepared well.)
It’s how you end up with language like “paperwork American” or the idea that Thanksgiving turkey is some sort of natural ethno-national tradition that certain other groups are incapable of ever appreciating

Given the big empire spread the new Odyssey trailer is probably coming with Avatar and hopefully Nolan does an Imax exclusive thing. Does Universal also release a teaser for the new Spielberg with Wicked?

That actually is part of the Burn It Down sales pitch--last third is addresses "what do we DO about it?" I talked to many people in the trenches of various kinds of reforms about how to actually change things. Shortest version of that is: Find your people & change it together. I've SEEN that work.
You did an exemplary job providing a history text and blueprint for how systems CAN be reformed.

One reason I have nearly no patience with elites is that they have the scope, power & protection to act & they almost never do. Whether it's an assistant or wrier in Hollywood or a high schooler or carpenter standing beside me at Broadview ICE, I've seen regular people show so much courage. SO MUCH.

This is a BIG reason I wrote Burn It Down. I was v tired of doing One Bad Man stories & wanted to shout from the rooftops that every He's Just One Bad Man is NOT a one-off--each 1 is propped up by multiple interlocking systems of enabling, protection & even celebration. The SYSTEMS are def evergreen
Terrific book that unfortunately remains evergreen.
ANYWAY! My 2023 book -- about systemic, institutionalized, longstanding patterns of misconduct, abuse, predation, and the enabling and even the celebration of same by the powerful -- was titled Burn It Down 🔥🔥🔥🔥 just sayin' bookshop.org/p/books/burn...
