i don't understand how one doesn't morally and politically reach the same conclusion: defund ICE. Every person in opposition to what this administration is doing hopefully realizes that defunding ICE is not only morally correct, it is politically smart.

Trump as President and his administration of corruption and cruelty are a danger to the world and humanity globally. they have done incredible damage to democracy here in America and around the world. Trump is far more dangerous and damaging than Maduro ever was.

I know Sharyn Alfonsi, i worked with Sharyn Alfonsi (at ABC News), Bari Weiss you are no Sharyn Alfonsi. Sharyn is as good as a journalist as you will ever find, and she has more integrity in her little toe than Weiss has in her entire body.
Sharyn Alfonsi, a “60 Minutes” correspondent, criticized the network’s decision to remove her reporting from Sunday’s edition of the show.

i tell you what, if Democrats win the elections in 2026 and 2028, one of the biggest mistakes they could make is to talk about uniting the country by not prosecuting all of the lawbreakers and corruption of Trump administration officials. One reason we are here today is Ford's pardon of Nixon.

Despite the propaganda (lies) spewed by so many including the show Landman, the average time it takes for a wind turbine to offset it's carbon footprint (construction, installation, maintenance, etc) is around 5 months. and a typical wind turbine typically generates energy for 25 years.

here is what so many in political news media don't get. Unless prices of goods significant drop in cost, Trump will get no credit on economy and it will be a negative for GOP. Just because inflation is "slowing" doesn't get you any credit as incumbent. Prices have to drop substantially.

This seems like the most straightforward and also basically accurate message.
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

what is so ridiculous about this is the GOP was claiming in last few years that NJ and VA were now purple states. and of course they are ignoring ground they lost in suburban areas and in rural areas.

yup, it's a non-ideological cross-cutting campaign that can help dems perform well with people aligned with them on an axis other than D vs R (this is also how trump won in 2024, just with prices)
A pro-affordability, anti-Trump-corruption message unites the party. Every candidate can run on that, and every candidate can have their own take to fit that to their constituents. There's really no need to find fights to pick when the party agrees on more than it disagrees
Came here to say this, but Jamelle Bouie has this covered. 👇
When the Democratic tent includes candidates like Spanberger and Mamdani, there is no crisis, or fight, for the party. IT’S A COALITION, NOT A POINT ESTIMATE.

political news media does such a disservice whenever they cover polls. new example: latest poll comes out showing Mamdani with double digit lead, while average of polling hasn't moved, they then report Cuomo has closed the gap and Mamdani in trouble. so so bad of news media.

The gap between what Republicans think they are & what they actually are is huge. GOP thinks they are for freedom, they are not. They think they are for the rule of law, they are not. They think they are against corruption, they are not. They think they are for protecting the safety of Americans...

Democrats are right to remind people that when Trump falls there will be accountability.

I also think we should start issuing criminal referrals to DOJ. While they won't be acted on by our corrupt Attorney General it puts Congress on record against lawbreakers.

in latest YouGov Economist polling, Trump now has -16 overall approval, and -36 among independents. there isn't a single issue Trump has positive approval on.
And as i said on @msnbc.com today, in 2018 Trump still had strong numbers on economy. In 2018 his approval on economy was net +8 and among Independents it was +15. Today his approval on economy is -13, and among independents it is -32.
Good news for Dems for '26 elections (YouGov/Economist):

in 2018 right before election day when Dems had great year, Trump approval was net -12, among Independents it was -11, and his strong approve/disapprove was -18. Dems had 5 pt lead on generic ballot and were down 2 among Independents. (1/2)
