Update: All votes are now in and Andrew ended up 257 votes (0.89%) short of a *major* upset in the Harrisonburg/Rockingham seat for the #Virginia House of Delegates anchored at James Madison University.
This was the closest HoD race for 2025.
Welcome to the frontline for 2027.

We are strongest because we reflect the diversity of the nation.

Stop trying to engineer the “perfect” type. Start recruiting people who can actually connect with the people in front of them.

Cuomo has ran such a racist campaign that I was going to say that if you see him in the city you should hound him about it for the rest of the life but then I remembered that he doesn't live here and probably won't set foot here again after today.

A bright spot in my deep red home county: Cheryl Facciani, who won in 2021 on parent rights/anti-vax/anti-LGBT students appears to have lost to a Democratic-backed candidate in a nail biter

To give you the scale of Virginia Dems House of Delegates victories

They didn’t even contest this seat in 2023 when they won a majority

Now they flip this district in Hampton Roads

Really worst case scenario for Virginia Republicans

The fact that VA Dems haven’t been deflecting the Jay Jones scandal by shifting the focus to John Reid is crazy to me

Quick, someone poll the 4 things in this scary, scary agenda.

You absolutely cannot tell an accurate story of Charleston history without discussing slavery. Go back and look at any old newspaper from the time and you’ll see it was foundational to virtually everything.

Pls stop calling the new TX map a “dummymander.” It’s not. The GOP was careful not to dilute R votes in Lean R seats.

In a normal redistricting cycle this would be a biased map. Mid-cycle, at the president’s request, it’s an insidious partisan plot to steal seats. That’s what’s worth focusing on.
The way Rs redrew the map, there is no meaningful weakening of Likely R seats to Lean R/Tossup to turn those Dem seats red. It’s entirely a shift to the right. They were smart about this, and carved out voters from deep, deep red seats to move the needle. No “dummymander”

Here are prez #s for 2024 & 2020 for the five targeted D seats, plus the GOP's two most at-risk seats

As I say, it's possible the GOP fails to flip some targets, esp. looking at 2020 #s (#TX28 gets a bit bluer by that metric!). But their two most vulnerable seats barely budge under either set of #s

Not sure I can defend this, but Stevie Wonder’s five mid-70s records (from Music of My Mind to Songs in the Key of Life) are the only music I ever play on the 4th of July. They are America to me. They’re my Sousa marches.

Democrats should, of course ALWAYS use Ranked Choice Voting unless there's an overriding (e.g., legal) reason not to do so. Even more so when there are a slew of candidates, when it's a party-run process, etc. bluevirginia.us/2025/06/brea... h/t @notlarrysabato.bsky.social
