Look, if having an Olive Garden Chair of Roman History is what it takes to reverse the trend whereby every department outside of the Ivies is being ground to dust and the job prospects of anyone who didn't get their degree from Harvard are a wasteland, it's still better than the present situation.

A few notes: NoVa is part of the DMV; DC is not a great city as it's a shit food town and most people there are not people you want to spend time with; I never imagined the indignity of non-Notre Dame fans rooting for Notre Dame over Georgia. I knew @stevengodfrey.bsky.social hated my team but damn
