Ok. Now had a chance to check and, well, at least some docs do appear to be straight up classic redaction fail. And there are some *interesting* bits here.

The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

It's incredible, isn't it, that trying to do whatever the people who hate you wants doesn't make them hate you any less yet absolutely destroys any respect or warmth from you amongst the people who didn't hate you.

Starmer wants to be a British Macron. He's succeeding, but not in the way he hoped.
Well that’s worked, hasn’t it – disapproval absolutely skyrocketing among Labour voters, but 1% down among Reform voters!

Surely at some point Starmer will have to stop courting the votes of people who’ll never vote for him. But has he left it too late to rescure the votes of people who once did?

The anti-trans brigade is horrified to discover that Wes didn’t get the memo explaining that “needs more research” was always a pretext for a ban, and not actually a call for more research.

(He’s the only person in the universe who didn’t realise this.)

Fascinatingly, the EHRC here shades in bright red the failure of the UK to implement gender recognition based in self-identification, and notes that the UK has failed to make gender identity a protected characteristic.

Interesting piece.
The points about human rights/EU law have force. But for me, the central problem with the FWS judgment is more fundamental. It strikes me as implausible that this is what Parliament intended, without spelling it out, only 6 years after the GRA, and in an Act dealing with equality.
So much of the commentary on the FWS judgment has been driven by reflexive responses to the outcome, but there are so many gaps and leaps in its reasoning that it will spawn litigation for years to come - @aoifemod.bsky.social and I flag some failings in judge craft:

If Labour wanted to know why it is tanking electorally trans rights would be a great case study. Not because people vote on trans rights; most don't. But because everyone - both the JKRs who hate trans people and trans people and their allies - can sniff out Labour's position as insincere bullshit.
