Bracing analysis of the rise of the far-right in Germany: "there are widespread right-wing extremist networks within the security services, the police, and the armed forces. Europe-wide networks of fascists are operating unhindered. Something is brewing. If we don't react now, it will be too late."

I won't say what I want to say about the video of that lying fascist monster Ben Gvir gloating over a room of kidnapped people because I truly don't want to give that scumbag the satisfaction. But what impressive people the Sumud Flotilla participants are. Pressure your governments to get them out.

The explanation for this is that all these people are horrible ghoulish fucks who have bullshat themselves into a corner at the request of the USA and are desperately trying to use Jewish safety as an ablative shield for their own reputations. But nobody is saying this.

To clarify: what a lot of people are seeing is a horrendous genocide with starving children being livestreamed on tiktok, and a political media class that's very obviously lying to them about it and claiming opposition to it is antisemitism.

Protesting genocide is fundamentally un-British, you are correct, home secretary. Of course it is, the British state is responsible for centuries of massacre after massacre, genocide after genocide, to this day, including the current Israeli genocide of Palestine.
October 3, 2025 at 8:50 AM
It's not the main point of course, the main point is how the British Labour government are participating in the Israeli genocide of Palestine, but that section in Owen Jones' conference video with Akehurst is fucking cinema. The YNWA playing, knowing the context for that? Fuck me.

Herzog has been a consistent cheerleader for Israel's campaign in Gaza. His assertion that there are no innocent civilians in Gaza is key evidence in the genocide case being heard at the ICJ.

Basic facts in the biggest news story in the world, of which Balls displays blithe, swaggering ignorance.
Ed Balls on #GMB: "Herzog.. his politics is the other side from Netanyahu. Herzog politically will be deeply worried about what is happening in Gaza & Israel"

Yeah, right.

Moving towards a safer society requires a rudimentary understanding of how power works and a plan for how to change this society into one where transphobia isn't protected and enabled.

Not begging transphobic institutions like the police to stop individual transphobes.

I'm in Wales and I'm English *spits* so I'm (badly) speaking the words on signs and street furniture like they're Elvish heroines or places from deep myth. We should all know the tale of the warrior peasant Ysbwriel who fought colonisers at the battle of Trowch i'r Chwith.

Flippancy about snowmobiles and fur coats aside, not to mention the risks of emboldening far right misinformation, there's a lot here which is just plain cruelty. Parents can't try and save to buy a child a toy, people can't listen to audiobooks. It really is a "they should suffer" type of policy.
Considering people seeking asylum living in hotels get less than a tenner per week, and those in other accommodation get less than 50 quid, this really is performative nonsense from the Home Office. People aren't buying fur coats and snowmobiles FFS. 1/

"essential living needs" is not an objective category. Do you remember the pandemic? All the arguing over essential purchases, travel, services, workers etc? It's just an empty word for people to protect their unexamined moralism onto. And it always tends towards sanctimonious asceticism.

When it comes to asylum seekers, "luxury" doesn't mean expensive, it means "goods and services that fall outside the scope of essential living needs". Everything, from the impossibly meagre allowance to the arbitrary restrictions, is about ensuring denial and misery.
