The issue has been fully weaponized by the right and repeatedly amplified by reactionary centrists at the Atlantic and NYT (Singal, Paul) over the last decade. If more progressive orgs and mainstream media prioritized trans equality and platformed trans voices we’d be in a different place.

On trans rights: every single progressive moment has faced backlash after some initial gains. But eventually it recedes. Within a decade or two I firmly believe trans rights will become more normalized amongst normies, just like how women’s rights, interracial marriage, and LGBT rights have.

30 years ago my high school wouldn't even give me a Tylenol without a note from my mom, but sure, minors are getting gender surgery
i once confronted one of these people at a public event with direct evidence that "gender surgery for minors" isn't a thing that happens and it made no impact.

I’m scared to even leave my house in Minnesota because of how federal immigration agents are operating raids, shootings of civilians, people being taken off the street, and a constant fear of ICE showing up at any moment. It feels like we’re living trapped indoors just to stay safe. Stay safe every1

everyone who thinks theyre a good person but acts like kicking trans ppl out of sports isnt a big deal should be in charge of informing trans kids that they arent allowed to play sports w their friends or consider sports as a career. bc thats what parents of athletic trans kids have to do rn.
