The issue has been fully weaponized by the right and repeatedly amplified by reactionary centrists at the Atlantic and NYT (Singal, Paul) over the last decade. If more progressive orgs and mainstream media prioritized trans equality and platformed trans voices we’d be in a different place.

I am a black, trans, disabled, immigrant, facing homelessness. I’ve already had to start a crowdfund. Most won’t even donate 1$ to mutual aid, so of course, they don’t give a shit for voting for people who hurt others
