Enlightening thread about one of the reasons Davis supposedly got into Mpls mayoral race — the anecdote about Frey calling him in Mexico is really on brand for Jacob, so pathetic and weaselly
I hope @dewayneforminneapolis.com doesn't mind me retelling a story he told me when we first met last winter. I kept it to myself because he wasn’t telling it publicly but he mentioned it yesterday. It’s one of the things that’s leading me to rank him first. A hope-its-ok-and-I-get-right 🧵:
Yesterday, I hosted an incredible event, "Ward 8 for a New Mayor." We talked about why we need a new mayor and then @jazzformayor.bsky.social , @omarfatehmn.com , and @dewayneforminneapolis.com laid out why they should be our next mayor. I came away excited about all of them and will rank all three!

It’s been 28 hours since the assassin was photographed in Minneapolis. It’s been 24 hours since a Bearcat punched into a N Mpls house connected to this man.

I remember the first time my dad asked me to punch him in the face. Me and my 27 brothers (no sisters) and their 26 moms were there with me and dad. All 55 of us were just wrasslin. "Let me have it," dad said. He had been awake since 1991, because of the drugs and blackmail. Weeks later he died.

I was one of the delegates who got challenged and booted. They were being obnoxious in the balcony. Literally cheering for neighbors to be disenfranchised. I’ve never been more motivated to see Frey lose. Absolutely abhorrent snickering and shit talking.

Elizabeth Shaffer and Becka Thompson have long track-records of working against our communities - treating the Park Board as a way to funnel money away from communities in need to the wealthiest areas of the city.
