To me, there is absolutely nothing good about trying to "cure" or prevent neurodiversity. Or treating it as a disease when it clearly is not. Because that stems from the eugenicist idea that we should be trying to find some weird genetic superiority that doesn't fucking exist.

Words have meaning. They are important. All this stuff about 'it's just words', 'words will never hurt me'; that is all pre-internet age stuff. Words do hurt and it is time we all thought a bit harder about which ones we use and why. Ascribing moral values carelessly- that is also a slippery slope.

I partially disagree.
It's part of the job, but it's really only a small part. I'm a full time voice actor, and I really only spend maybe 10% of my work time in the booth.

This exact mindset is why it becomes hard to fight for something better because we’re focused on attacking our enemies instead of building something through community, solidarity & hope. It’s how we got here in the first place. It’s playing their game when the only way to win is to make our own.
Not to be doomer, but my politics have become "whatever hurts my enemies". If it hurts a bigot, I wholeheartedly support it.
We’ve sunk so far into the redistricting mess that politicians are basically saying, “Oh, you made your state less democratic? Fine, I’ll do the same in mine.” And we clap, because we’ve been trained to see power only as leaders gaming the system—not as something we could actually hold ourselves.

I cannot really express how much I hate the idea that telling people facts will "alienate" them so we shouldn't. I'm sorry they don't like reality but wtf are we doing here.
I have just seen my third news item with people saying "well sure crime is way down but if you tell people who are scared of crime that fact, you'll alienate them" and this can only be some sort of society wide, generational failing.
