Yes, I don’t understand why they didn’t go down this route
They should have been quicker at making a plan for safe and legal routes, whilst promoting the benefits of immigration. But instead, they’re too busy trying to appeal to the right. They could also focus on bringing down bills: people would like that

HMG should definitely stop using Twitter as a communication channel.
As a separate issue it should start using #Bluesky as a communication channel.
It would be extremely hilarious if UK ended up going tougher and harder on US platforms than EU is. Maybe they could start with HMG giving up on using Twitter as its communication channel?

Exactly this. Disgusting for any government to treat asylum seekers in this way. For it to be a Labour government beggars belief
Labour bring in right wing policies to appease Reformers. Reformers hate Starmer even more. Labour alienates its core voters. How to fix this? Bring in some more right wing policies to appease Reformers. Reformers hate Starmer even more. Labour alienates its core voters. How to fix this? Hmmm 🤔 🤔

Individual risk in any medication is rarely if ever zero. Does that mean that they are against any and all medication or treatment? That doesn’t make sense
“What we’re seeing is an acceptance that individual risk needs to be zero,” Jernigan said. “If that’s the case, we’re not going to have population-based interventions. We’re not going to have things that will benefit the vast majority of people”

Yes! Still waiting…
Their first job should have been removing the political appointee Robbie Gibb from the Board. It should still be their first job today, tomorrow until it’s done.

The pain and hurt that man has caused with the lies he printed about Hillsborough should have been the end of him.
Robbie Gibb should resign for this error of judgment. I’m not joking

Not surprising for trans people who had to watch Beth Rigby demanding that the head of Stonewall talk to Tufton Street anti trans pressure group the "LGB Alliance."

Worse than that, the BBC themselves, after the resignation news broke, actually went straight to Mackenzie to hear him call for the BBC to end news coverage.
The BBC are not perfect, but they are the best.
Their judgment at times though is appalling.
Promoting Farage being the biggest mistake.

@zackpolanski.bsky.social What is the Green Party’s position on Freeports and SEZs? Given that both the Tories and Labour Party are endorsing their growth and development and they are a major barrier to our rejoining the EU how would you tackle this issue please?

Half-time and goalless. #LFC doing well and forcing string of saves from Courtois, and Real Madrid escaped a handball inside the area that was initially given #LIVRMA 👇🔴

It’s a disgrace that a GP practice is being attacked by the NHS for helping existing young trans patients within the law.

It has been suggested that Reform are testing public opinion. Well the answer is: Racism is never acceptable
Ah delightful.
Danny Kruger on #r4today telling us that Pochin ‘clearly meant something else’. I don’t think so Danny.
‘It’s concern about DEI!’ - also no.
‘Nigel has concluded she’s not racist, so she’s not’ - v much not how it works.
Insulting to all of us that they churn out this ugly nonsense.

This is something we could expect from the Tories but the Labour Party should be dismantling or disabling it on coming into government. Private corporations do not operate in the interests of the public. They operate in the interests of their shareholders and profits
This is why Starmer said we wouldn’t be getting closer to the EU. It’s because we can’t, he’s signed contracts with big corporations who will then effectively govern Britain and these corporate zones aren’t allowed by the EU.

Confused as to why there’s not more publicity? Me too.

This is pretty crucial to consider now. Imagine what happens if Farage, Badenoch or Jenrick decides to go down the same route as Trump on science.

The UK’s independent scientific bodies are highly vulnerable to politicisation - over the past 5 months I've been working with @martinmckee.bsky.social to map out their vulnerabilities and it's not good news.

Today our report is published!

UK’s arm’s length public bodies are highly vulnerable to politicisation
Seven in ten Britons say it is important for top scientific institutions to be independent in exclusive new polling.

Yes, good idea
Imagine we had a system that meant we don’t have to constantly negotiate deals with the EU; almost like some kind of symbiotic relationship, where we all act in unison…oh, yeah, a bit like being part of the EU!

This is my fear. I don’t want my data anywhere near Palantir any more than it already is
Palantir will almost certainly get the contract because our NHS data is already being absorbed by them - Peter Thiel is an evil man and this should be blocked before it's too late.
