EU Emissions Trading System has reduced emissions in the sectors covered by 50% since 2005

Power sector continues to be the most important driver of the decarbonisation progress in 2024
EU Emissions Trading System has reduced emissions in the sectors covered by 50% since 2005
EU emissions under the Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) have now dropped by 50% compared to 2005, with 2024 seeing another 5% reduction. Driven by a surge in renewables, the power sector led the way—while aviation emissions rose and shipping joined the system for the first time.

🚨📰💚 Global Governance Just Won Big — As the U.S. Left the IMO Room last week, the world achieved something rare: a legally binding global climate agreement.
The US didn’t vote—they walked out, warning others to follow.
But 63 nations stayed, & they passed the deal. 🤝

It's been a rough time lately as a domestic abuse survivor, watching the cycle play out on a national scale. Check on your friends. Check on survivors. We're probably not ok.
The White House. The actual White House.

This is the attitude of every abuser, who is now fearful of the consequences of their abuse.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

Seems like has been very little coverage of protests happening in the U.S.--not necessarily an intentional media blackout (although possibly), but the result of a longstanding stance in legacy media that protests aren't worth covering, activists aren't credible sources (but somehow CEOs are), etc.
