1. Today, the Trump administration's HHS Dept., under RFK Jr., released a review of transgender healthcare.

It has no authors. It pushes pseudoscience and conversion therapy. It does not follow a scientific process.

My fact check of the Trump HHS review.

Fact Check: Trump's HHS Review On Trans Care Filled With Lies, Pseudoscience
The review, which was made possible by an executive order calling transgender healthcare "mutilation," reached its predetermined conclusion on its May 1st publication date.

BREAKING: HHS just released a 267-page report attacking trans youth care.
It looks scientific. It’s not.
It erases trans voices, manipulates evidence, and sets the stage for bans.
Here’s what’s really going on 🧵

A couple quick reminders from a mental health professional in anticipation of the so-called "Detrans Awareness Day."

The existence of detransitioning people does not invalidate others' gender transitions any more than someone's divorce invalidates everyone else's marriage.

this is _montana_. this could be everywhere if dems collectively followed zooey zephyr's lead instead of throwing the vulnerable to the wolves.
And it happens again!

SEVERAL Republicans cross the aisle, vote against a bill that would remove trans kids from their parents.

They do so even after another Republican threatens them with primaries.

29 Republicans flip this time!

Wonder how Congress would feel if constituents of the House Reps who voted in favor of censuring Rep. Al Green--for standing up to the administration's abuse of power--called to share their disappointment. You know, in theory.

9. Another bill, also unlikely to pass but similarly extreme, removes the word "minors" from a gender-affirming care ban, expanding it to apply to all ages. These proposals illustrate a broader shift in the Overton window, pushing once-unthinkable policies closer to political reality.

This is your free reminder that if you call your senator on the weekend, you probably won't have to talk to anybody and you can just leave a message. I just called both my senators, and it took me a whopping 3 minutes 58 seconds. If you're not sure what to say, follow a script like on 5calls.org.

Hey everyone -- Moms of Liberty and Dept of Education launched a snitch line portal today to rat out teachers and anyone promoting anything DEI.

FLOOD THE PORTAL

Spam the hell out of it.

Pass it on! It works!

Mental health professionals have a duty to their clients to show up for them inside and outside of the therapy room. Here are some ways to tangibly help advocate for the trans communities you serve (as well as other populations threatened by current federal leadership).
Therapists, It's Time To Do Something
It is our sacred charge as helpers to take action. Here is how.

This should be exceedingly obvious, but when Stonewall stays up while references to trans people come down, they will measure the silence of cisgender people as concurrence for whatever they plan next, and it still won't protect you in the end. So please get loud. Our mutual survival depends on it.

Incredible news!

The Trump administration's under 19 trans care ban has been BLOCKED in federal court via a bench temporary restraining order.

The administration CANNOT withhold funds from hospitals providing trans youth care.

Fuck this hurts…
In a new lawsuit filed against Trump by state AGs, a family with a trans kid shares she died by suicide last month citing fears Trump would deny her access to gender-affirming care. "Her parents have expressed fear...that what happened to their daughter does not happen to other children."

Hospitals (and anyone else), this is why you shouldn't act preemptively and weakly like this. You just become his pawn.
NEW: The Trump administration is now bragging about hospitals that are preemptively pausing, reviewing, or stopping gender-affirming medical care for those under 19 following Trump's anti-trans executive order relating to health care, asserting, "Promises made, promises kept."

In my years of reporting on LGBTQ news this was by far the hardest.

But we are still here. You made it to Friday. You lived. Good job. That wasn’t easy.

Through a diversity of tactics, we will continue to live.

Rest up, drink water, find community, so that we can all be here tomorrow too.

Not a perfect document, but the executive orders claiming the DSM-5 are illegitimate sources on the topic of gender is an attack on science and evidence-based medicine at large.

"I can't keep up on the news. It's too draining."
Then don't get your news from endless social media feeds filled with emotional hooks. Try getting news directly from reputable journalists' websites instead. They do great work. I often learn more with less effort, which really helps my brain.
