Well, I finally got sucked into the Abundance debate.
An NPR show let me ask Derek Thompson one question.
I asked, "how come the last abundance agenda ended with the biggest economic downturn in 80 years?"
I elaborate here:

The Last Abundance Agenda
In the 1980s, Wall Street vowed to make housing more affordable through deregulation of housing finance. The result was the 2008 crisis.

Housing really is a ‘decide if you want to win’ issue for the Democratic Party.
We're all going to be unbelievably fucked if blue states don't start immediately rolling back restrictions on new housing to create a construction boom and build millions of new multifamily homes as soon as possible

From inside the DoD:

“Schumer's bungling over the past two months & creation of this lose-lose scenario is a complete dereliction of his duties.
This was the sole moment where they had any real potential leverage to stand up and fight for the Constitution & they completely blew it from day 1.”
Text from a fed employee:

“We are truly alone.”
"I don’t get paid if there’s a shutdown but shutting the government down and putting up a fight is preferable to giving in."

"Every single one of my colleagues supports a shutdow."

"Everyone I know in my office was hoping the Dems would grow a spine and shut the government down."

the Democrats have repeatedly bet the republic on the idea that ancient serial failures who have done nothing with their careers except wait in line to rule can be trusted to run the country after the Republicans dash themselves on the rocks and not once my lifetime has it been true

The centrist argument is, "our policy and campaign were impeccable, the election was lost by randos online who somehow reached low-info voters who don't know what a tariff is or who appointed the Supreme Court" and nope sorry that dog won't hunt. Change starts with the people who ran the show. 🫶
I wrote about Seth Moulton, Rahm Emanuel, James Carville and other more centrist Democrats blaming progressives for Harris's defeat. Their arguments, in terms of election analysis, are weak. But we are in the midst of an intra-party conflict with high stakes. wapo.st/3ZGh5UV
Opinion | Centrist Democrats lost the election. They should quit blaming the left.
Whether to use he/she pronouns in emails wasn’t a factor in the Harris-Trump race.

Difficult to describe what a dangerous moment we are in.

The owner of Twitter/richest man in the world/closest adviser to the next US president is promoting a far-right Tommy Robinson (!) documentary to his 200 million followers.

This is the mainstreaming of violent, Islamophobic fascism.

I don’t think there is a consensus on what Working Class means. It’s clearly used conversationally and in writing to mean different things. Lower income or not middle class? Blue collar? No college degree? A combo? www.demos.org/sites/defaul...

We need to brand this a pro-working class platform. Our people have to expand the "war of position" (key vocab) in modern society against the status quo. One of the best ways to be a nuisance to billionaires and stay ahead of the bourgeois hegemony is by building digital enclaves on every platform.

With Republicans now floating cutting Medicaid (again), a reminder: research shows that cuts to Medicaid is also harmful to public safety and is linked to increases in crime. (Even while those responsible would never get painted as responsible for crime.)

“We Need to See the Bigger Picture”: How Cuts to Medicaid Hurt Public Safety
A new study found that when people lose health insurance, crime rates go up. Bolts spoke to one of the authors about the implications, at a time of a nationwide drop-off in Medicaid.
