I may be in the minority, but for me, chaos and shenanigans are not the goal at a #ttrpg table. I'm not against humor, but I love serious stories and games with stakes, and players and characters who take the secondary world and situations seriously.

Last Friday was session 1 of The Between. Players got into it and I am excited for session 2. Big take away was CATS system and how to use it. Reminding players, and me, for a horror game "levitiy is fine but we want to come back to it's dark tone" helps a lot. Humor was had and in tone 👍

If your RPG has one scenario, I’m likely to run it as a one shot at the table. If two or more, I am even more excited to bring it to the table!
But what if your rules are like 20 pages, and the rest is just scenarios?
PSA for publishers: If you have a tight 100 page RPG that's been laboriously stretched and stuffed until you can release it as a 300 page, serious-looking hardback? I'm unlikely to review it 😞

I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a hand hobby, something that you love to do that you find fun and fulfilling that also requires use of your hands and attention so that you can’t multitask by doomscrolling at the same time

It’s such a small thing and never takes away from my enjoyment of a book, but authors outside the United States, please know that no American has ever called a flashlight a “torch.”
