Okay by unpopular demand, my scattered and unorganized Claudgrid thoughts. I'm going to abuse alt text here. Next in the thread will be a special emphasis on the ~smile~ line.
Basically: there's bickering, and there's challenging and I think they move from the former to the latter in their support
Now I will say this about them, I don't really acknowledge their end card. I'll weasel around it by saying I usually imagine them post AM, but I also just think the end cards have enough problems that you can set one aside for the sake of your ship lol. But here are some of the general things I like about them. Their traumas pushed them really far to opposite sides of the spectrum. Claude thinks he must be distrustful, hide his cards, put on a mask and let no one see the real him. Ingrid has almost lost her sense of self, all too willing to sacrifice her life and her happiness for others. They need to push each other out of those comfort zones. For obvious reasons, Ingrid will benefit from broadening her horizons and learning more about the world. I'll be honest I just think the trope "I wanted to change you and it worked but now I miss the real you" is cute. They don't water themselves down to meet somewhere in the middle, they just learn to accept the other as they are. And yeah some of this I've extrapolated or headcanoned in, because the supports aren't perfect. If you compare English and teaspoon translation, some lines are better executed on one, some in the other. Some I'm not crazy about in either. But I think that's true of all supports tbh. HEADCANONS -Post AM, they have a long distance relationship while Ingrid is a knight for Dimitri. Eventually the separation gets to Claude and he pulls a Petra by forming an elite order of Almyran knights that Ingrid finally agrees to lead. This basically makes her his boss when it comes to security and their disagreements are uncomfortably sexual for the people around them. -Claude's engagement present for Ingrid is a white wyvern egg. Her pegasus adopts the baby and it is the most spoiled creature ever to live. It eats at the table with the king and queen. -The land in Almyra is dry and rocky, but hot, so scientists from Almyra and Galatea work together to find better ways to farm in difficult places like that.
