Hilarious the Louisiana Gov and Senators are now asking Trump to federalize the Guard to take over New Orleans like supplicant subjects should. Let's remember. The Gov can do this any day of the week. That's what the Guard is. A state militia. Asking Trump to federalize them is some weird GOP kink.

This is a very big scientific milestone: stem cells appear to have permanently cured most diabetics in this small but historic trial based on the work of Harvard researcher Doug Melton, who has 2 kids with diabetes. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/20/h...

my favourites so far have been gwar (saw em 2-3x before dave brockie died), and pixies (shockingly without kim deal, they were still great despite zero stage presence. they're my fave tho so maybe I'm biased)

In 2021, I called on Andrew Cuomo to resign because I believed the allegations against him compromised his ability to lead. That decision was based on principle, not political convenience.
Breaking News: The Justice Department is investigating Andrew Cuomo over his testimony about the pandemic, shortly after it ended a case against Mayor Eric Adams.

Share with your NYC friends! (And can't these two guys be a ticket somehow?)
At last night's mayoral forum cosponsored by Hell Gate and NY Focus at the Public Theater, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social asked @bradlander.bsky.social a question that Lander was more than ready to answer: What he thought was the worst thing Andrew Cuomo did as governor.

I don't know if NYC folks listen to some author/energy wonk creature above your own judgment, but ... for Mayor:

1. Rank @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social first.
2. Rank @bradlander.bsky.social second.

(or reverse those two if you feel like it)

3, 4, and 5: Rank three someones who aren't Andrew Cuomo.

In terms of the number of Americans affected, and the direct power of the office, New York City Mayor is one of the 10 most powerful elected offices in the country. Cuomo getting it would be a huge setback not only to the city but the entire country.
the number one goal for everyone left-of-center for the next 6 weeks should be making sure Andrew Cuomo doesn’t become mayor of the largest city in the country.

even if you don’t live in NYC, you probably have friends or family who do. please tell them how awful Cuomo.
Andrew Cuomo, who leads in the mayoral polls, has a Trumpian belief in his own spurious talents and triumphs. His election would likewise be a disaster for everyone subject to his rule.
