So, I emailed the link:

to my kids, some of my former graduate students and post-docs, and a few other friends. All in all, I shared the link with about 30 people.

I asked them to consider signing and to share the link with their own networks.

They’re not “deporting” people, they’re kidnapping them and sending them to foreign prisons. Concentration camps. They’re paying these countries to imprison humans. It’s human trafficking.

BREAKING: A court ruled that our case challenging Rümeysa Öztürk's unlawful detention should move forward in Vermont, instead of Louisiana, and that ICE must transfer her there.

Nobody should be shipped to a detention facility halfway across the country for writing an op-ed.

Our client Rümeysa Öztürk has not been charged with any crime.

She is being held in ICE detention in retaliation for her political beliefs. Writing an op-ed is not a deportable offense.

Our lab had a great morning at the 4th Annual Senior Black American Health Fair hosted at @penningtonbiomed.bsky.social. We conducted 60 free memory screenings, offered fun VR “travel” experiences, and provided info about our free neuropsych clinic for those otherwise unable to access services.

We have just been informed that four Emory students have had their visas revoked.

Let me be so crystal clear, this is dictator behavior and we won’t just sit here and take it.

University leaders—it is time to locate your spine and put it to use.

Concentration camps. They're requesting $45B for concentration camps.

Use the proper terminology.
this is a staggering amount of money to build camps—suggesting that building & running a gulag will be the primary function of the otherwise gutted Trump-state

in last fiscal yr: "D.H.S. allocated about $3.4 billion for the entire custody operation overseen by ICE"

A request for proposals for new detention facilities and other services would allow the government to expedite the contracting process and rapidly expand detention.

To my #StandUpForScience & #NIH #NSF #IES friends - the #Humanities needs our support. It's easy to get stuck in our divisional silos but if you didn't know, the DOGE is planning to basically eliminate the #NEH (via RIF of 80% staff & cancelling ALL existing grants) 💔 www.nytimes.com/2025/04/01/a...

The National Endowment for the Humanities, which supports museums, scholarship and historical sites, could see grants curtailed and staffing slashed by up to 80 percent.

By attacking science:

We are less safe because science informs national security and medical care.

We are less prosperous because science drives innovation and economic benefit.

We are less free because science and democracy depend on the liberty to ask questions, and seek and share knowledge.

I have the same conversation with so many academics lately where they say something like "I just can't pay attention to the news anymore. It's too stressful. I'd rather just focus on my work."

All I hear is "I feel safe in my privilege and don't care about what's happening to other people."

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.
