I really think it is time we reimagine the role our leaders have.

From what I can tell, they pushed everything back, ostensibly because of the shutdown. Grants would typically be reviewed in late Feb and March, as the standard deadlines state for cycle III, aren’t being reviewed until late April, after the cycle I deadline.

BREAKING: The Trump administration just cut off funding for hundreds—and maybe thousands—of organizations that were providing substance abuse services across the country.

An amazing episode just dropped. Here and in her book, Dr. Pickard artfully integrates philosophy and science to question some of our basic assumptions and answer the question: Why do people continue to use substances despite evident and severe costs that count profoundly against their own good?
🚨 NEW EPISODE OUT 🚨

In this week's episode hear Dr. Hannah Pickard, addiction philosopher, discuss her new book "What would you do alone in a cage with nothing but cocaine?" (releasing TODAY!) and its implication for science and practice.

I used to skateboard in competition from age 18-24. I dropped out of high school at 17, got a GED at 19, then went to undergrad at 25 when it became clear I was never going pro in skateboarding.
If you see this, post a random fact about yourself:

I was recruited for a show on Nickelodeon in 2012 after performing at Paper Mill Playhouse. My mom didn’t let me do it because I would have needed to be in Florida for months, and she wanted me to stay in school. Show never aired — close call!

Noticed an interesting detail at NIH. Applications in cycle III (Oct-Dec) all have review meetings scheduled for later than the standard window of Feb-March. The ones I’ve seen are so meeting in late April. Stay frosty friends because I’m sure this is due to something totally above board.
