Trump’s Ukraine policy is based on fabricated numbers ($350bn). His Russia policy is based on fabricated numbers (majority support for Russia in occupied territory). Why are we surprised that his trade policy is also based on fabricated numbers?

In short, randomized controlled trials show that macroeconomic uncertainty inhibits econ activity

Economic Policy Uncertainty index is now higher than it was during COVID.

Where is the outrage in America about this shameful betrayal by Trump? Where are the Senators and Members of Congress who cheered Zelensky when he addressed them, but are now too afraid of Trump to say a word in defence of Ukraine?
At least 20 Ukrainian civilians have been killed just this night by Russian missiles and drones. Hundreds of soldiers were killed on the frontline in recent days. These are the first results of the US suspension of military aid and intelligence to Ukraine: more deaths

I guess things were actually looking quite good for the US as a superpower. Russia was stuck in an unwinnable war + really bad economy, China's growth had slowed down, and Iran's regime looked fragile after the protests. Oh well, then Trump came along, and now the American century seems to be over.
