In this online workshop, Sütterlin specialist Carolin Sommer shines a light on the mysterious Sutterlin writing script. We uncover why it was introduced, why it was abandoned, and why it appears so hieroglyphic even when written in a neat hand.

Last Wednesday i went to search for the last remaining part of the antitank ditch of the Panterstellung in the Netherlands. Well not really searching but visiting. Most parts were re-cultivated and are now filled. But in a small Forrest a short stretch was left.

@janpostma.bsky.social Vraag voor de Amerika podcast: denken jullie dat het Trump slechts gaat om de aandacht op wat voor manier ook? Of dat er een snoder plan achter zit, van Trump zelf of mensen om hem heen.

The area of Cherbourg has it share of bunkers in all kinds of use and some are special. This is a picture of a commandbunker type 608, this one has a non standard observationpost added. It was once covered by a steel plate (probably a 7P7 -10cm thick). It is located at MKB Brommy.

This gigantic hangar in Écausseville was for airships of the French navy (1919). Aviation made these buildings obsolete and the hangar was decommissioned in 1927. After DDay in 1944, the Americans used it as a storage and maintenance center for vehicles and tanks. #urbex youtu.be/CdM4tFmAhtk?...

In the Mastenbos near Kapellen (Belgium) there is a nice piece of the Antwerpenstellung that was made in WW1 by the Germans, it was built far form the real battlegrounds in France and Flanders. It was to prevent a Allied attack over the river Scheld to capture Antwerp and its harbours.
