every single one of them should spend the rest of their fucking lives looking over their shoulder for the guy who's coming to kidnap them and drag them in front of a tribunal.

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

the people shooting people and the people being shot both have an equal responsibility to reduce gun violence
This is from the NYT masthead editorial about the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The highlighted line invalidates not just the editorial, but the very idea of newspaper editorials crafted by the consensus of a board. Better to publish nothing at all than to publish a line like this.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

They really are dropping any pretense that ICE is about immigration.

Once you're saying ICE has absolute power over not only undocumented people but anyone they engage, you're openly admitting these are meant to be shock troops for the mad king
When an ICE agent confronts you is "when your due process ends," says the member of Congress from the largest border district.

The point of saying that he was a white citizen with a permit to carry is not to imply that the shooting would otherwise have been justified.

The point is to make people understand that their race and legal status will not protect them.

Democrats can and must make it clear there will be trials and anyone even somewhat associated with ICE will face them. Maybe give a quit-your-job deadline on appeasement and give people 72 hours. I don't know. But currently the plan is to let them murder us in the street and get away with it.

ok but they won't

ICE officers won't follow orders they don't ideologically like

And elected Dems have not yet shown evidence of any spine to do what is necessary: punish these people.

the problem with an untrained secret police squad that shoots people in their cars isn’t that they’re untrained

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Renee Good, they are increasingly stopping this observation, breaking car windows and pulling observers out, in one case unconscious, merely for watching what they are doing.
The country should be alarmed they won't stop with us - but know that while this is traumatizing to any good person you know

it is actually kind of bananas how unitary executive theorists have taken a straightforward clause requiring the president to "faithfully execute the laws" and transformed it into a grant for the exercise of limitless unenumerated power.
The Take Care Clause was a byproduct of the lessons learned from the Glorious Revolution that the executive should not be able to dispense with the law promulgated by the legislature. It was not a constitutional provision to empower the executive branch— but to constrain it!

1) Gross to hear RFK Jr. talk about breasts
2) The average time to return to work for moms after giving birth in the US is 7.2 weeks so unless he's *also* introducing mandatory 6 month leave (which would be great but I'm skeptical) he can STFU. Breastfeeding an infant is basically a full time job
RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

It’s not that we didn’t want the shutdown to end, it’s the fact that millions of people suffered throughout this shutdown and it was for nothing. That’s the most upsetting part.
