Dear UK: You don’t pay enough taxes to have an NHS that doesn’t run on immigration and immigrant labour.

Sorry to be brutally honest but it’s how it is

A reminder of the need to leave the pro-fascist website.
An X user asks Elon Musk why they’re seeing tweets from left-wing lawmakers.

Musk: “Because we are failing very badly with the recommendations algorithm. Doing my best to address this.”

"The bloc is in danger of squandering a period of better relations between the US president and Europe" - ha. This US administration is an extorting bully that can't do better relations with anyone, but whose President will take bribes. Survival against that is the best plan.

The orange dotard’s fatuous demands to the BBC are going to be very effective in increasing support for public broadcasting in the UK (and increasing its reach in the US). I assume the BBC’s response will apologise for the mildly misleading edit, and politely ask what reputational damage it caused.

Trump is like a toddler: time he spends asleep is to be prized, not resented. Every minute he sleeps is a minute he is not tantruming or breaking things or smearing his own shit on things.

A great session this afternoon talking to residents in Cyprus Street. Lots of good conversations, and enthusiasm for voting for Sirajul Islam next May and getting rid of Lutfur Rahman’s failing Tower Hamlets administration. All the best for Remembrance Sunday tomorrow at their war memorial.

Great decision by Tower Hamlets Labour's Cllr Siraj Islam. The Bonfire Night fireworks were the upside to local residents of disruption from commercial events in Victoria Park. To have events, but no fireworks was wrong. Tower Hamlets Council should do more like this to strengthen community cohesion

The full transcript of Zohran Mamdani's acceptance speech is very much worth reading in full. Even if you don't agree with your politics, it's very beautifully put together.

How short our memories are.

Just a few years ago, nurses carried this country through a pandemic, and now they're suffering a 55% surge in racist abuse.

To every nurse: London stands with you. You are loved and valued, and always will be.

All this is why I am very happy to co-sign this letter organised by Luke, a great champion for net-zero and fighting climate change. An important reminder that support for tackling the climate emergency remains strong inside Parliament and with the British public.

For ~20yrs the Climate Change Act has powered clean growth & climate action

Proud to co-ordinate 124 MPs & Peers to urge the Conservatives, don’t scrap it

Turning climate leadership into a political football puts our economy, security & children’s future at risk

Thanks to President Trump, we have an answer:
