I pick up my flute every day and at some point I know I’ll play this beautiful piece of music by Gluck. One day I’ll do it justice, but I’ll always listen to Jean Pierre Rampal, and to my friend who studied under Rampal in Paris. Music is how I keep sane in a mad world.

Australia, Japan, S Korea and New Zealand apply to EU defence club, investing in EU joint defence production. US dependency abandoned. These countries are protecting themselves against American leverage. Sounds like a good idea.

If, while doomscrolling on X you accidentally came across the content in question it would be cached on your device.

If the police subsequently searched and found it you'd be locked up and put on a register.

Yet the people responsible will just get a toothless letter from Ofcom.

I'm writing about the Palestine Action hunger strikers at the moment, any of whom could die at any moment, and the astonishing media and government silence surrounding them. The Establishment seems to have become even crueller than when Thatcher was PM.

Since Saturday, Trump has already threatened Cuba, Colombia and Mexico with military action & reiterated his desire to annex Greenland.

US has already struck Colombian boats, sanctions Colombian president, threatened Mexico and sent new envoy to Greenland.

🚨🧵on Venezuela

While the final US military operation last weekend might have been under cover of darkness, the build-up to it was out in the open for all to see.

I've constructed some timelines of the immediate build-up covering both the strikes and the supporting actions...

Just wondering how easy it is for the US to “run” Venezuela, then “run” Cuba and Greenland as well. I mean, look at their current administration. Also very expensive. As plans for world domination go, it seems to have quite a few downsides.

Europe needs to get much more comfortable threatening Trump with serious deterrent measures, and if necessary implementing them. Tariffs, taxes & bans on US firms; selloffs of US Treasuries; expulsions of American troops; sanctions on individuals. Speak his language: strength.
Why should Trump stop at Venezuela? They’re champing at the bit for territorial expansion. Katie Miller, Stephen Miller‘s wife, posted a map of Greenland marked as a US territory with the words „SOON“.

Reform UK won’t say ‘private’ when talking about the NHS. Richard Tice is calling it ‘independent’:

"Instead of giving £26bn to the already bloated wasteful NHS, we proposed easing pressure on the health service by incentivising those who can afford to pay more to go independent with a tax break."
