There are a lot of things about working a 9-5 that suck, but always winding up at the Lowe’s in the super Walmart shopping center at noon on a Saturday is not at the bottom of that list.

On this #420day, we celebrate the 52nd anniversary of performers “Gail & Dale” singing the hit, “One Toke Over the Line,” on Lawrence Welk.

Neither had an idea the song was about pot, and Welk thought the song was a “modern spiritual.”

ChatGPT consumes so much water and energy each week that it could power entire countries for YEARS and folk act like you told them to kill their selves cause you want them to write their own emails and not to steal art. 😂

I think the way these same people yanked away things like urban outdoor dining and the child tax credit but had their crooked PPP loans forgiven is a large reason there’s no confidence in any Democratic politicians today.
I think the anti-woke backlash is in no small part because of COVID. People were asked to do things for the common good and that radicalized them against any kind of common good and the concept of civic virtue, and an entire political party decided that was good because a Democrat was in office.

I know how much Irish people hate when people in the US, UK, or Canada talk about how they are 12% Irish, or whatever.

But everybody having some Irish heritage means one thing: Irish people have a reputation as the most prolific shaggers in history.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, you rides. 😘

Anyone find it funny how when the UK releases the Cass review to ban trans care, we get everything ranging from New York Times push notifs to op-eds in every major US paper...

But when Germany, Switzerland, and Austria release pro-trans youth care guidelines, not a single article anywhere but mine?
1. Major news in transgender care.

Germany, Switzerland, and Austria have just released their trans youth care guidelines.

They strongly recommend trans youth care and slam the
Cass Review in England.

Europe is not "pulling back" on trans care.

New German, Swiss, And Austrian Guidelines Recommend Trans Youth Care, Slam Cass Review
The recommendations, released by the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany, come at a time when US politicians erroneously claim that Europe is "pulling back" on transgender care.

Agreed with Gillian here.

If you called your Senator (or didn't) to tell them to vote against a trans sports ban, it's important that you also call them and thank them for their vote.

NO Democrat broke on this.

For the Grand Junction, CO area folks this means:
Starting at 10AM
Locations: Colorado National Monument- outside either entrance (as long as you’re outside the Monument boundary); be sure you don’t impede traffic. Additionally by the Visitor’s Center.

Bring signs, or just come out and support!

Another chance for local folks to show up
In the Grand Junction, CO area there's a permit for inside Colo. Nat'l Mon., up by the Visitors Center for the whole day. Outside the Monument boundary (at the big entrance sign) no permit is required, just don't impede traffic. This is pretty ad hoc, no organizing group. Tell your friends.

While Trump “floods the zone,” we must stay focused.

NO to oligarchy, tax breaks for the rich and cuts to working class programs. NO to authoritarianism and unlimited power for one man.

YES to growing the union movement and raising wages. YES to health care as a human right.

Somebody is cooperating who should god damn well know better.
The National Park Service has removed "T" and all mention of transgender people from the Stonewall National Monument.

Trans women were some of the most influential activists behind the Stonewall movement and what followed.

3 articles of clothing laws were why raids happened.

Erasure.

$196 billion for three men in 99 days.

Meanwhile, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

SHE IS THE APPROPRIATIONS CHAIR. SHE CAN SUBPOENA OFFICIALS, HOLD TELEVISED HEARINGS, HOLD UP ANYONE’S FUNDING, ZERO OUT THE WHITE HOUSE’S FUCKING ICE CREAM AND DIET COKE BUDGET, AND ENFORCE THE APPROPRIATIONS LAWS THAT ARE THE SOURCE OF HER PERSONAL POWER.
Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins slams the Trump admin’s NIH cuts as “poorly conceived” and says she has called RFK to “to express my strong opposition to these arbitrary cuts in funding for vital research.” She says he promised to “re-examine this initiative” if confirmed as HHS secretary.

of all the many terrible things that seem to be afflicting the public, the prevalence of defeatist mindsets with zero capacity for creative problem solving (or indeed the unwillingness to even *imagine* possible solutions to problems) might be the thing which freaks me out most.
Electricity generation has always felt like an impossible engineering problem. Demand has to match supply - yet we managed that with ancient, all-analog equipment for over a century.

Now we have so many more tools at our disposal. Why should this be hard?

Interestingly, in Loper Bright vs Raimondo, the conservative majority on SCOTUS ruled just last year that the judiciary can in fact overrule regulatory decisions made by the executive branch especially when those decisions are not specified by Congress.
