As a South Texan, I can say our young women are dying in parking lots because they are turned away from hospitals because they aren't septic enough or haven't hemorrhaged enough for OBs to provide abortive care when they are losing pregnancy.
Infant & maternal mortality accelerating.
Vote.

You want to talk about government efficiency? Every $1 spent on childhood immunizations in the US returns a savings of $11, thanks to preventing illnesses, and saving millions of lives.

Hating on “Big Pharma”? Cool, it’s a $1.6 trillion regulated industry. But hang on…the $6.3 trillion wellness industry sells you mushroom tea, dewormers, crash diets, and alkaline water—no regulations, no oversight. But hey, it’s ‘natural,’ right?

I don’t think non physicians realize how for real physicians, vaccines is a controversy like flat earth or creationism or birds aren’t real

"No true Scotsman" actually holds here

it's hard to really describe how baffling this is, how frustrating its been to see grow and how high the price will be

So bad. Such collateral damage with childhood vaccination attitudes, too. I wrote this post about keeping our daughter up to date with Covid vaccines, and it drew lots of angry responses calling me a murderer for giving my kid a CDC/AAP recommended shot:

Why we keep our daughter up to date on Covid vaccines
And why that’s the opposite of malpractice.

"The flu sucks" is a perfectly good reason to get a flu shot.

(Not going to the hospital is nice too.)

(1/?) A quick story about Jimmy Buffett.

I worked at the New Orleans Margaritaville in college, up until I graduated in 2006. It was a good job. Busy, and with generally good tips, especially on festival weekends - and New Orleans has a lot of those.

Places where abortion is becoming outlawed don't need to be mocked by people who are luckier, they need material support & political solidarity.
