Just as the West built itself on the myth of endless progress, much of modern medicine, wellness culture, and the longevity industry have constructed their own foundational lie: that with enough effort, tech, and personal responsibility, we can indefinitely postpone decline, disability, and death.
I’m thankful for this roasted dinosaur sacrificed on Thanksgiving. That some birds and mammals were among the 25% of life on Earth to survive the meteoric extinction 66M years ago. I’m sorry for the tragedy of the other 75%. It’s a miracle that any of us survive - conscious, sentient, aware.

Here’s a new logo for the institution formerly known as CDC, now rebranded as the CFD. Dropped “prevention”, because that takes work, expertise, scientists. Used a Cracker Barrel style that harkens back to the good old days of unchecked polio, measles, and other diseases. What do y’all think?
