Also, it does not "capture" any CO2 from its own vast gas combustion emissions, and was never intended to.

"Capture" is and always was a lie at Gorgon. It's exactly greenwashing, co-opting a popular concept to apply to a standard gas industry processing step – separation and disposal of sour gasses

House bias-101.
Completely inappropriate for ABC Sport to run an interview during the cricket tea break with a spokesperson for athletes pushing for a Royal Commission. No other perspectives canvassed - just a platform handed to one side of the argument on a silver platter. Appalling.

Since the ABC's Macdonald says Israel's mass murder in Gaza doesn't matter 'because Sudan', maybe should again look at that horrendous place. According to the BBC's Lyse Doucet, who, unlike Macdonald, might know, the Sudanese Civil War is a proxy war between the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.

He isn’t as smart as he thinks and so actually doesn’t work hard.
On the Yglesias debate today: I disagree with a lot of the takes about him.

First, he is smart and works hard and his blog can be good.

So, the problems?
He’s become nihilistic about politics so he is now self-serving, he butters up the wealthy and powerful, and he uses social media to troll.

Iron Ore company idea are really quite shitty with gas companies pretending they are “mining so you can’t touch us”
This conference was such a fizzer that the CEO of the Minerals Council didn't even turn up, sending her deputy instead.

The reason for this is probably that iron ore companies that do pay tax are shitty that the tax-shy coal and gas miners are making them look bad.
