Look, there are contradictions in the Star Trek canon. I'm sorry.
Either Realm of Fear is impossible, or Second Chances is impossible. They can't both be canon.
Considering duplicates seem to happen more than mid-transport awareness, I'm inclined to believe copy-paste transporters.

For the billionth time, the transporter in Star Trek does not kill you and create a copy of you. The TNG episode Realm of Fear establishes that a person being transported is conscious for the entire process. Transporter duplicates like Riker and Boimler don't mean the original was destroyed.

Not only should they not get special treatment, elected/appointed political officials should be held to a *higher* standard than the general public. Their crimes should be treated as a degree worse than if a random citizen did the same. A misdemeanor as a felony, and a felony as a capital offense.
It was a terrible precedent to set.

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.
