If Mamdani wins I will leave New York. I will go live in one of the other 5 houses I have, perhaps the one in South Florida, or the one in Paris, or Napa, or Cabo, but I will definitely leave New York. I will keep my apartment, though, because it's awesome and New York is great. But I will leave.

Information Technology entrepreneurs have ALWAYS, since the time of fucking Gutenberg and the printing press, balked at paying for the information their information technology delivers. It's never about the survival of the technology and always about how much they can line their pockets not sharing.

There's at least 3 recent-ish pivot points I think about that majorly effected contemporary politics:

Scalia's death
The Twitter sale
RBG's death

This quote from the article below reflects something I’ve been thinking about: “They were interested not in improving public education but rather in sowing distrust, Gore said.” The folks spreading disinformation don’t care about solving problems, just about exploiting those problems for other ends.
"After taking office & examining 100s of pages of curriculum, Gore was shocked by what she found—and didn’t find. The pervasive indoctrination she had railed against simply did not exist. Children were not being sexualized & she could find no examples" of CRT.

Former allies started threatening her.

Courtney Gore, a Granbury ISD school board member, has disavowed the far-right platform she campaigned on. Her defiance has brought her backlash.
