All those thinking the private sector would find a way to solve climate change, when of course all it was ever going to do was find ways to produce even more emissions and f*ck the environment royally.

Because well... that's all it ever has done.

This is one thing Australia really excels at: exploiting vulnerable migrant workers, abandoning them to destitution and denying their human rights. The PALM scheme is not much better than slavery www.abc.net.au/news/2025-12...
Thousands have left Pacific worker scheme and are stuck in visa limbo
Pacific Islanders have been leaving Australia's guest worker scheme, a decision that breaches their visa conditions and leaves them "extremely vulnerable".

Embarrassing behaviour by Henderson. (yet again)
Sarah Henderson remains a complete waste of space.

We are badly served by these intellectually bereft and incompetent grifters. #auspol #SenateEstimates

Really bad, but totally on point for Wilson. He has a very vindictive attitude towards anyone who is not aligned to his beliefs. A truly horrible human being, not just a bad politician. Shame on Goldstein voters.
This is really bad!
First - it seems some kind of monitoring and/or database is being kept on community independent volunteers - and then there's the refusal to serve a constituent based on their political views.

We are meant to believe the NACC is still trying to establish if somebody should be held to account on #Robodebt.
They are now preparing for their Xmas time-off while victims and their families have to see off yet another year without justice. I’ll be thinking of them this Xmas.
It’s almost 2yrs since the day Commissioner Catherine Holmes handed down her final report on Robodebt & referred those responsible for criminal prosecution. It was a day we felt like finally something was happening.
I’m so sorry to all victims who are STILL waiting for justice.

The EPBC Act changes are nowhere near perfect, but there have been some important improvements to the pretty shite original bill.

Good on the govt for negotiating with the Greens to deliver something not completely shit.

Maybe think on doing a bit more of that?

Hi @bsky.app

If you want this to be a global platform, how about trending topics reflecting the other 96% of the world's population?

The domination of this site by American news and American topics is one of its greatest drawbacks

Hell, even old Elon manages to get this right

We bought a Genny (generator), about a grand. Saved all our food and a couple of neighbour's freezers. (We towed it next door for 2 hours each house- enough to keep unopened freezers safe). Our energy-efficient house ran off it if we turned on one appliance at a time. Our power was out for 6 days.

This is like a real life Monty Python skit. It just gets sillier and sillier, but unlike Monty Python stuff, no one is laughing.😢
Have we reached peak dysfunction?! The NACC handed $1.1M to MA Services - the firm running a Nauru security operation linked with the Finks bikie gang. They're also guarding the ACIC who are literally tasked with taking down bikie gangs🤯

So ... a dangerous abuser accuses his partner or ex-partner of a violent crime (this is common) & get the cops to charge her, usual delays until it's dropped/heard and now the govt will cut off the accused's entitlements, making her - & her children - wholly dependent on her abuser? Get out of it.
