We had Russia on the ropes.

They were crippled by sanctions.

They had made minimal headway into Ukraine.

Putin had to survive a military uprising within his own ranks.

He was down to pleading for conscripts from North Korea.

Then he played his ace in the hole.

Donald Motherfucking Trump.

What Tan said.
This is what patriotism looks like.

Chris Kluwe, a former NFL player was arrested after speaking out against plans to install a MAGA plaque at a Southern California library. What a legend.

The irony is that it’s unlikely a MAGA supporter has ever set foot in a library.

Quietly, Hegseth announces a major policy change, ruling out Ukraine joining NATO. This is a capitulation to Putin, justifying his wars of aggression starting with Georgia in 2008. This will embolden Putin & undermine the interests of peace in Ukraine & Europe. A major blow to US national security.

As being “free to make our own trade deals” has delivered the square root of jack shit and, as Brexiters still can’t tell us what EU regulations they want to scrap, closer alignment with the EU should be a no-brainer.

Braverman should be driven out of public life for saying something as bigoted, conspiratorial, ridiculous, and dumb as this but she won’t be, of course, because anti-Muslim bigotry and Islamophobic fearmongering has been normalized in British public life.

So it turns out they spent £715 million on sending a grand total of FOUR volunteers to Rwanda.

For comparison, this is more than you could expect to spend on building an entire brand new hospital in the UK
In July, I FOI'd the Home Office for the full breakdown of spending on the Rwanda scheme

I was refused because the government planned to publish the data in future, and today is the day. These numbers are in millions
