This mural has gone up in Kingston, ostensibly for Christmas but AI has ensured it's actually to celebrate the return of our dark lord Cthulhu

Only just discovered this book the other day entirely by accident in a bookshop and after skimming through it, I have to say that in a book covering over 400 films I am exceptionally proud of just how many of them I've seen.

We don't need to "protect our borders"

Our biggest threat doesn't need to cross a border to harm us.

From a yacht, billionaires can move markets, pressure govs, dodge taxes & bankroll politicians to rewrite our laws.

The threat isn't the "outsider"

It's the concentrated power already inside.

Important facts:
1. Mel Brooks was born on June 28, 1926. He is currently 99.
2. Mel Brooks does not look like a gormless wax AI muppet with crab claws.

Shabana Mahmood: immigration is tearing Britain apart.

Me: the constant politicisation of immigration to appeal to base racist instincts to cover up the constant failures and weakness of central government is tearing Britain apart.

Hot on the heels of The Ban, there's another new Irish short dropped on the New Yorker's Youtube channel.

Struggling to see how Bond being apparently dead is an issue for any new film but him being in action for about 60 years and in several different bodies was just normal stuff.

This just popped into my head for some reason. Man, I don't think I've thought about this show in at least 20 years.

Quite a few cinemas showing the re-release of Back to the Future for the 40th anniversary. If you're going, why not enhance your experience by watching Kate Bush's "Cloudbusting" video first (starring Donald Sutherland!), which supported BTTF in UK cinemas in 1985.

Double bill of double bills at the cinema today. #Noirvember double (The Hole & Rififi) followed by shorts (Czech animation and Edinburgh Short Film Festival). Perfect weather for spending all day in Filmhouse.

I'm a big fan of the 1980s "youngsters band together to save their hangout from rivals/evil property developers by using their special interest" genre. Having already seen it involving breakdancing, rapping and rollerskating, I think it's now time to see what aerobics has to offer. Tonight's film:

So many different sensations in every mouthful. 5/5, a masterpiece.
Appropriately since the big Netflix movie everyone's talking about involves a guy putting stuff together that doesn't belong and creating a monster... I just made nachos with haggis, chorizo, sundried tomato and chipotle sauce
