So, I purchased the center and the land it sits on — the best $2 million I can imagine spending.

New Jersey, it is the honor of my life to earn your trust to become this great state’s 57th Governor.

I promise to listen, lead with courage, and never forget who I serve.

I am a product of food stamps/SNAP.

They helped my family make the most basic of ends meet.
It allowed both my mom and me to level up in the world.

I can hardly think of a program more essential to fulfilling the American dream and to common human decency than this.

For every $1 spent on SNAP, the economy gets back $1.60 because of the “multiplier effect”.

But since I was a kid on food stamps, I have an even wilder number: for every $1 spent on a *kid* in SNAP (1-5yo), the economy gets back $62. That is a shockingly GOOD investment.

“We are told by leaders that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”

Incredible speech by Violet Affleck who warned about the ongoing dangers of COVID & Long Covid, & advocated for masks and clean air at the UN today!

Jesus, I’ve seen what Anne Hidalgo has done for Paris, and I want Mamdani to do it for us. Amen 🙏
On one hand, reducing car use reduces urban pollution.
But on the other, everyone likes it and cities become more livable

In a small town in County Cork, Ireland, a monument stands in appreciation to the American Choctaw Indian Tribe.
Although impoverished, shortly after being forced to walk the Trail of Tears, the tribe somehow gathered $170 to send to Ireland for famine relief in 1847 [Historic Vids]

Yesterday, I passed this small patch that had somehow escaped the ubiquitous ryegrass and sheep/cattle treatment.

It stood out like a flashing neon light, thronged with wildflowers, native trees, flying insects, and birds. Nature's only way of crying out to just be given a chance.

They cleaned subways during Covid. Now, they’ll get millions in back pay.

So proud of our team in the @nyccomptroller.bsky.social’s Bureau of Labor Law who won this $3 million settlement on behalf of 450 mostly immigrant workers who risked their safety for ours.

I was born an underdog. 21 surgeries by the age of 12 for spina bifida. A kid wearing goodwill hand-me-downs. I knew nothing would come easy, but I never doubted my right to the American dream.

Now, I'm running for the U.S. Senate to make sure all Iowans have a shot at theirs.

Today is the 47th anniversary of this clearly unimprovable photo, from a story so absurd that it shouldn’t be true, but is: the day a team of workers from British Waterways pulled the plug out of the Chesterfield Canal, and all the water emptied out
