I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.

2017-- news anchors cry on TV after 45 says there were "good people on both sides." Remember?

7 years later, baby Nazis are accessing our SS data, Elon is heiling Hitler while he, 47, and their solopsistic sycophants tank the economy, imprison activists, and kill poverty programs.

Good times.

This is what criminalization does - the scope has simply expanded - and why we all need to be putting refusal and resistance to criminalization at the center of our anti authoritarian/antifascist struggles.
Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.
re the previous repost: if they can disappear permanent residents they can disappear citizens

These ten Democrats should just quit. To censure Green when there have never been consequences for MTG for egregious behavior whereas Green was protesting fascism. We are drowning in shit.
US House voted 224-198 to censure Rep. Al Green (D-Texas)

Republicans 214-0
Democrats 10-198 (with 2 Ds voting "present")

I didn't realize this about REI's board! I'm disappointed to say the least, so I went and voted to "withhold" on all board members. If you're a member, I hope you'll vote against them as well. vote.escvote.com/REI/
There’s a vote for the REI Board! If you’re an active member you can vote at vote.escvote.com/REI/

The board has union busted and endorsed Burgum for Dept of Interior. They are unfit for their roles and need to be voted out.

Thank you!
Every mainstream attempt to grapple with the rise of Tate and other misogynist ideologues have posed them as a product of men’s despair. Few have posited them as an assault on women’s safety and dignity.
We need to talk more about how it feels to be a woman amidst this sudden onslaught of “reclaiming masculinity,” celebrating male aggression and violence, and vanishing smart experienced women from positions of power.

It's sickening
Per Dr Atul Gawande, ex USAID: “All malaria supplies protecting 53 million people, mostly children, including bed nets, diagnostics, preventive drugs, and treatments – terminated.”

There are no words that sufficiently describe this level of cruelty and sadism.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

If red states become completely unsafe for anyone in my family, they are unsafe for me, including my home state of Indiana. I won't spend a night or a dime any place where anyone in my family does not feel free. Fascistic times call for drastic measures.

Since 2022, three people have died in ICE facilities across New Mexico. Their crime? Seeking safety and a better life.

🚨 New Mexico is enabling human rights abuses by letting ICE use our counties as loopholes for no-bid detention contracts—shielding them from accountability while people suffer.

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other

Go on the NPS Stonewall website and see how they erased trans people. All of a sudden, even references to historical discrimination only mention LGB throughout.

You can leave feedback at the bottom of every linked page to let them know how you feel. F’ing morons.

Trump’s executive orders are not law.

This doctor knows it. Many hospital systems know it.

Those that comply with something not passed by congress and with power not constitutionally granted to the president are cowardly.
