Trump not only dismissed MBS’ culpability in Khashoggi's brutal murder & blamed the victim for not being more likable. He also rebranded bin Salman, not long ago condemned in civilized countries as a pariah, as “one of the most respected people in the world.”

Five corporations control 90% of the US media market.

Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

Trump pardons allies who boost his crypto coin.

Trump invests in corporations that he's supposed to be regulating.

Trump cuts deals with autocrats to advance his family's real estate business.

The list goes on.

We must not become numb to this blatant corruption.

Listening to many speakers over multiple days has been inspiring, and has renewed some slightly shaken faith in civic life in our city.

Well done, Vancouver.

A lot of key issues and elements have been eloquently covered by citizens, so I’ll try to say something relatively “new.”

Council stopped at 10pm, reconvening tomorrow 3pm to keep going thru the speaker names that had missed their chance the 1st time. Lots of people are still hanging in there, wanting to speak. It’s impressive.

If I miss my chance to speak again tomorrow, I’ll post my speaking notes here in a thread.

Missed my number being called tonight (#609) to speak via phone to Vancouver City Council during their multi-night meeting on the city’s very controversial 0% austerity budget. Remarkable to have that many speakers, and to have almost all opposing the proposed cuts, instead asking for a % increase.

Trump called a female reporter Piggy and said Kashoggi got what he deserved. The only thing he hates more than the press is a woman in the press.

When we say we have no Congress, that's a literal interpretation. The duty of a "Representative" is to represent the people. Our Congress works for Trump
GOP Rep. Salazar won't criticize Trump calling a woman reporter "piggy" -- "President Trump is a very different type of politician. But I always say I look at his policies and not his personality. Nobody is perfect."
