Pastel artist, excellent for therapy. Good news welcome, already too much of the other. Humour helps. And walking.

Truly appalling decision.
This is obscene.

The challenges facing the nation means we should be scaling up CSIRO, not cutting it to shreds.

While we are sending billions to the US for nuclear shipyards, our science and industrial base at home is falling apart for lack of funds and direction.

It’s been brought to my attention that it’s World Migratory Bird Day. I can think of no better excuse to share four of my best pictures of the undisputed king of migratory birds - the kuaka (bar-tailed godwit), which boasts the longest non-stop migration on the planet. Alaska-Aotearoa. 🪶🇳🇿

Despite the growing costs of climate change, the Government’s refusal to release the National Climate Risk Assessment is keeping the Australian public in the dark.

The report should be released - Australians deserve to know the facts.

What good is the common law if it’s “not suitable”? Especially when the Cmth continues to act against best science & evidence & continues to ignore & act against Torres Strait Islanders & a future for all of us? What recourse is there? #AustralianClimateCase #auspol #climatechange

Pastel drawing, sorry about the dust! Near the Abercrombie River crossing with sheoaks and flood debris. NSW, Australia. Almost complete.

Not just you!
At risk of being rude, have others noticed the extreme irony of the National Party (self declared ‘friend of farmers’) breaking up the coalition because they oppose Net Zero while Australia languishes under extreme floods in NSW and extreme drought everywhere else? No? Just me, then?

Setting the tone for our campaigning at ACF for this term of government.

May Labor’s legacy be the leaders who finally stopped fossil fuel expansion during the most critical moment of history to make a difference.

Bit ironic that they call it the leaders debate, when mostly what they do is take direction from media barons, mining billionaires, fossil fuel companies and powerful lobby groups

Things that *should* be a big issue in the Australian election but sadly won't be:
- Climate change (even though our election was delayed by massive floods)
- Indigenous rights
- Inequality
- Poverty
- Our treatment of asylum seekers
- {NEW!} Our relationship with the US

More work on this pastel drawing today, it’s been in the naughty corner while I think about how to fix it. Still a WIP.
