Rare chalk stream rescue plan quietly shelved. The ecologist tasked with writing the action plan was told in September that it had been shelved. Government told Charles Rangeley-Wilson there was no mandate for a plan. DEFRA says it is “committed” to restoring chalk streams. (1/2)
