When you go to Auschwitz they have piles of jewellery and watches which were confiscated from those arriving.
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

See that gorgeous smile, there? That’s recent birthday girl @annakwood.bsky.social having just opened the 🎁 I made for her big birthday: a cushion inspired by Rennie Macintosh, upcycled from purple fabric I had saved for special use.

Hi all

I'm doing a birthday fundraiser (big birthday coming up next week). It's for the Daratumumab trial which is really exciting, via Joan Crawfords just giving page.

I think this has huge potential and needs a proper clinic trial.

Please share #mecfs

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.

Researchers implanted CRISPR-edited pancreas cells into a person with type-1 diabetes.

The cells produced insulin for months

There was no need for immune-dampening drugs, due to gene edits that allowed the cells to evade detection by the recipient’s immune system.

Hope for diabetes: CRISPR-edited cells pump out insulin in a person – and evade immune detection
Edits create cells that don’t trigger an immune response, allowing implant recipient to forego immune-suppressing drugs.

Rooks in a field yesterday!

It's a bit of a joke in the birding group that I didn't see my first rook until October last year (more likely just hadn't noticed one). Beautiful birds

#DecodeME in case you a quick reminder about DNA and how it underpins this study:

DNA carries the instructions for how to make and run a human body. It’s effectively a very long string of four different chemicals, named A, T, C and G for short.

The incitement for genocide in the Israeli public sphere is undeniable. So why are so many of us liberal Jews so reluctant?
