I want to give props to @courtneymilan.com for her Weekly Tea newsletter. I mean, there's not a whole lot of good right now, but this is a bright shining light at this time. Also, her books are amazing.

@mozilla.org your idea to provide AI snapshots of links is dumb and providing an AI summary is dumb. What was dumber was you made it with default with your latest update.

I was trying to read what was in my syllabus and it was like the worst pop up experience ever.

Please do better. Nix the AI.

@mayor.lacity.gov if you don't address LAPD violence there's going to be a reckoning. Our tax dollars better not pay for their reckless behavior against our citizens.

Leia was a sitting senator in the Republic when they blew up Alderaan with the Death Star. If you loved star wars and don't see the parallels you weren't paying attention.
Same here.
Let's be absolutely clear: physically assaulting a US Senator for simply asking a question is disgraceful. We stand with Senator Padilla and all those peacefully defending working people against this administration's attacks.

Newsom: Just moments ago, they called up an additional 2,000 National Guard troops. So now it’s 4,000 total—of which only 300 have actually been operationalized. And guess what? Yesterday, LAPD had to use their already scarce resources to protect those National Guardsmen and women…

@mayor.lacity.gov considering the reason why the city budget is in a deep dark hole is because of police brutality, this might not be a good look for you or LAPD.

1. A large and growing literature on "generative agent-based modeling" aims to study social science questions by using LLMs to simulate the behavior of people in naturalistic situations.

Everyone everywhere should see this.

Chris Murphy calls Kristi Noem on the carpet and SHREDS her.

Brilliantly, incisively, THOROUGHLY.

It will come to nothing, because the GOP refuses to act.

But he is on the record. I don’t know what the fuck else can be done.

Have you ever read an academic paper and then went: yo hol up. How much of this theory comes from the fact that you don't trust the people around you, and don't have a core group of besties that you know will have your back, ride or die?

This comes from a mindset from Silicon Valley -- if they don't test or count, then it doesn't exist because it doesn't matter. When combined with cuts to funding for assistance for disasters, a lot of folk are going to be hurt. Elections matter. Both sides are not the same.
Not only are they ignoring climate change—they’re trying to cover up the cost. Shutting down NOAA’s disaster tracking so we can’t see the BILLIONS it’s costing us? This ain’t solving the crisis—it’s hiding it.
