"Only when I write do I feel well. Then I forget all of life’s vexations, all its sufferings, then I am wrapped in thought and am happy. If I stop for a few days, right away I become ill, overwhelmed and troubled; my head feels heavy and burdened." - Søren Kierkegaard
Just did a lecture today for a first year class, and at the end I had some extra time at the end to advocate for pursuing philosophy as a major/minor. Had two students come up to me after class telling me that they are considering now 🥹. Feels nice knowing that you’ve gotten other people interested.

I plan to write a series in my schools student journal. The series is going to cover different concentrations in philosophy, with the goal of getting first/second year students interested in studying philosophy (generally).

Any suggestions for (broader) topics to write about are much appreciated!

Last two chapters of Dandadan (212 & 213) are so good. The focus on lost memory, and how emotion plays an integral role in retrieving those lost memories is a very fun read.

my kids are still young but this is basically our strategy. even video games are something that we first and foremost play together, as a family, in the living room.
Honestly it seems to me that one of the most important tasks for modern parents is raising their kids to be mostly offline normies

Had a really fun weekend at the worlds celebration event. Ended up with first place playing my favourite deck Sky Striker.

Got to finish the game by attacking a card I got my mother to sign. Great way to end the ygo season this year! Excited for next year! 😎

ICE kidnapped her. Held her for 6 MONTHS in a detention facility with conditions so miserable that she finally agreed to voluntarily move to Honduras, which her family left at gunpoint.

Gordon Marino’s introduction to ‘The Quotable Kierkegaard’ is such a fantastic love letter/intro to Kierkegaard/Kierkegaardian thought.

I keep returning to it, and underlining something new, or keep having a new idea.

Getting more into Žižek recently.

Here is an awesome clip of him speaking on Eurocentrism.

I feel like a lot of what Žižek says here can also be applied to different issues as well. That is, the thought process behind what eurocentrism really is and how we operate in EC.

Speaking with friends, seeing online discourse, and reading more historical accounts from 1920’s-1940’s.

Feels like we are in a similar era right now. Makes sense why the Trump administration has targeted the removal of funding for education at all levels.

Feel like a doomsayer writing this. 🫠
