You know that thing where women (justifiably!) complain that they can't just read a book without guys trying to talk to them?
That, but for men who don't want to be the target of reactionary culture pieces.

Late pass on this, but "Liberté, egalité, franternité" is a really great political slogan.

Mark Carney’s budget is blind to the real causes of Canada’s problems
The prime minister's first budget emphasizes infrastructure and resource extraction but fails to leverage our most significant economic drivers.

Cool! I can't wait for all the other parts of MINORITY REPORT (2002) to also come true!
Cineplex Digital media have isntalled advertising signs in Toronto's Union Station that use facial recognition to target the ads. CDM says it only recognizes age / gender
of note CDM was also recently sold to an American firm and is no longer part of Cineplex

It's fun to watch Conservative disarray. But between the lines, this is also a story of how rural NS politics is organized around client networks rather than anything resembling political principles.

Respectfully, gen X can't hear "Don't Stop Thinking about Tomorrow" without having flashbacks of the 1992 Clinton campaign. For us, Fleetwood Mac was cringe music for boomers.
Was that an overreaction? Sure. But it was what it was.

A spectacular sketch of what can happen to academics when they need to feel important.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.
Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."
Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Having to take at least a few college courses way outside of your comfort zone is good, actually! Figuring out-- specifically as a young adult-- how to cope with an 8am geology course or a class where you have to read novels or whatever is an important life skill!

I will say it until I’m out of breath but if you’re critical of colleges offering “fake” degree programs with absolutely no intellectual rigor, start with the undergrad business degree or I’m not taking you seriously. 100% fake curriculum of airport Leadership slop.

When I was 15 or 16, I got myself added to the voter list for a federal election here in Canada. I'd been following politics obsessively since I was 12 and I wanted to vote.

Talking to the 5-year-old about the election tomorrow has backfired spectacularly because she asked if she gets to vote, and I explained to her that she needed to be 18, and she is now crying and vigorously arguing that you should be allowed to vote “whatever age you are”
