Here's where I've been today to think and talk about giving deaf young people greater access to the works of Shakespeare. What a positive and creative discussion. @arcolatheatre.bsky.social

Nature's larder for the winter. Wonderful to see and hear the birds in the hedges on this beautiful blue-skied day.

I love cathedral cities. Here's one. Chichester. And I've been 'walking the walls' today.

Our lovely little refills shop in Evesham. Fab products, great conversation and always good to see the numbers rise on the blackboard.

"The dilemma is obvious: climate or cash? Its answer should also be clear: just call a moratorium until green flying arrives."

The answer *is* obvious. We only have 1 planet and we must protect it. Sign our petition and say no to airport expansion: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...
Pushing airport expansion while rail travel languishes – so much for Labour’s green agenda | Polly Toynbee
The climate damage done by avoidable flying is huge, yet the government continues to see planes as the answer to its economic woes, says Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee

All I know is that for me, making a decision not to fly unless due to exceptional circumstances 20 years ago has been a huge liberation. Staycations, holidays in the UK and even touring holidays in Europe, it has been wonderful to actually travel about instead of hanging about an airport for hours.

I have some good news. Butterfly surveys have been my thing for over a year. Last year, all doom and gloom. Very easy to count. This year I gave up and could only suggest estimates. Over a hundred Meadow Browns and Ringlets, for example! They are back!

I cannot stress this strongly enough: Support your local theatre, café, bookstore, bakery, and library. We breathe life into these places when we support them. They need us, and more importantly, we need them.

Have you booked yet, Kenilworth/Warwickshire? It's this Thursday and it's going to be gorgeous. I realise Bluesky is not nearly as good as Twitter for promoting stuff, but I have to keep trying! Do come. 😍 Sorry the links never quite look as they should...

Don't be sad—everything is temporary, including those who run the show with their executive orders day after day, including the super wealthy who count their fortunes in marble halls.

Needs reposting over and over. Always struck by the huge difference made during the Covid lock downs.
NEW ANALYSIS - With the UK government poised to back the expansion of Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton, we crunched the numbers on the climate impact of these plans.

The UK would need to plant a new forest 2X the size of London to offset the emissions from all the extra flights 🌳✈️
