Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

“the Epstein class” should be THE tagline tbh. it’s so accurate their only defense is redactions, and it captures a hundred different linked evils at once. it also perfectly clarifies why trying to distinguish btw “kitchen table issues” (ie money) and “identity politics” (ie misogyny) is impossible
Ossoff: We were told that MAGA was for working-class Americans. But this is a government of, by, and for the ultra-rich. It’s the wealthiest Cabinet ever. This is the Epstein class. They are the elites they pretend to hate.

Bummed about this bc their limeade is a delight to drink year round and it explains why I haven’t been able to find it since December. Not to mention that most of the carton OJ is pricy and undrinkable these days. Really need the store brands to step up and fill the gap.

It is really infuriating to see how misogyny really does unite men across the sociopolitical spectrum. And, in so far as the Epstein files go, they sort women into two categories: fuckable or irrelevant. When they near a hint of accountability they complain about not being able to make women prey.

This debate or discourse or discussion about why Bezos is dismantling WaPo or whether or not more subscriptions or boycotts could change things or how he could fund it easily is pointless. It’s moot.

Bezos bought the Post to control the narrative and push his agenda. Financials don’t matter.

Gonna beg media not to just repeat Trump's obviously bullshit framing in the headlines. Tell readers the truth in the headlines.

"Trump Says Kennedy Center Needs Renovation, Despite Recent $250M Renovation"
Breaking news: President Trump said that the Kennedy Center could temporarily close for roughly two years to undergo construction.

So the Epstein files dump

1. Protected a lot of predictors

2. Created another partisan food fight.

3. Failed to create any obvious pathway for these women to get accountability.

4. Included a number of clearly unverified claims that can be used to undermine the very legit emails

“What we’ve been watching in Minnesota is proof that racist ideas lead to racist policies – and those policies produce bad, dangerous governance that affects everyone. Grievance governance does not stay confined to its targets; it corrodes the state itself.”
Hatred cannot govern a country effectively. Prior to this morning's arrest of journalists for doing their jobs, I wrote about this government using fear as policy in the Twin Cities, and why racist governance is bad governance. My first column for @us.theguardian.com.

Wow, the White House is so shaken by the turn in the public mood that they thought Chuck Schumer might actually rise up and "seize this moment" to get meaningful concessions.

That's how panicked they are. They thought Chuck Schumer would do something.
“An administration official gave away the game to Punchbowl News, admitting that these “de-escalatory measures” are about placating Senate Democrats so they don’t seize this moment to demand restrictions on ICE as part of any government funding package.”

Can’t believe it’s been 40 yrs since Space Shuttle Challenger & 7 astronauts were lost in an explosion after liftoff. Teenage me was home for a snow day. A memory I will never forget.

Per NWS Melbourne, that date remains the coldest on record at several locations around NASA’s KSC Launch Complex.

A big part of the story here is that women like Renee Good are braver and stronger than they could have ever imagined and that just doesn't fit with what MAGA men tell themselves about how gender works. It just does not compute.
