I've encountered a few people arguing that tariffs are good, actually, because they will force us to consume less and while I think our consumer culture is problematic in many ways, I don't think things such as 'food' and 'medical supplies' fall under the category of unnecessary purchases.

John Lithgow is saying the reason he said yes to starring as Dumbledore is coz he reckons it's his last major role and will take eight years to complete. Has anyone explained to him that instead of that he could make three really good films in that time? Films for adults that aren't made by bigots?
