When will Europeans understand that Trump is actively trying to weaken them, and using NATO to make Europeans act against their own interests? He has basically turned NATO into a stalking horse to help Russia, and Europeans are helping him.

Well, turns out that the Trump "pivot" to Ukraine was probably non-existent. He has, once again, protected Putin. And at the same time Trump has sabotaged the crucial US-Indian relationship and maneuvered Zelensky into a very dangerous position. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

Something that people need to now accept was that there was never any chance at all that Trump would impose harsh sanctions on Putin. It was entirely an act, and people fell for it time and time again. Putin can commit any war crime and Trump will protect him.

The only good news is that it should now be clear for even the most naive that the United States is no longer an ally of Ukraine or Europe. The United States will not honor any of its commitments. The United States is now an ally of Russia, China et al.

Grim news. I can't see the point of the UK & France not vetoing - even if they preserve their meetings with Trump, it's quite clear that he has swapped sides, & is now working with Putin against Ukraine & most of Europe. Better to stick to their principles, stay at home & plan next steps to save UA.
The new US sponsored resolution - which unsurprisingly enjoys Russian support - is three sentences. It does not identify Russia as the aggressor nor does it note the UN Charter's prohibtion on acquiring territory by force. "It looks like something the Russians drafted," one diplomat told me.

I think people are missing the reality of the growing US-Russian alliance under Putin and Trump. Its not going to force a ceasefire on Ukraine, it will be to help Russia try to win the war. The US is now an active enemy of freedom.
